Proudly serving Southern Utah, including: St. George, Washington, Ivins, Santa Clara, dammeron valley, hurricane leeds, toquerville, Cedar City and surrounding areas.
After dedicating over 25 years to Designing and Installing Landscapes, Walls and Pavers in Southern Utah you can rest assured that we know what we’re doing and we’re here to stay. During those years of working with numerous pool companies we discovered the right ways (and wrong ways) to install Swimming Pools and their Poolscapes. Here is what we learned; Installing a pool is actually pretty easy. Installing a quality pool requires integrity and attention to detail. And installing a perfect pool with the perfect backyard takes the above with many years of experience. Welcome to Turquoise Pools.
Everyone loves a giant hazardous hole sitting for months in their backyard, right?... At Turquoise Pools, we spend as little time in your yard as possible, by spending as much time in your yard as we can once we start. While we pride ourselves in saying the sky's the limit we have different options available that once we start to dig we can have you swimming in as little as 10 days. And of course we always recommend a pool cover for safety, security and energy efficiency. Did you know an uncovered 16'x36' pool in St. George will lose on average 17,000-22,000 Gallons of water a year due to evaporation. But let's not forget about the convenience and ease of maintenance a pool cover provides as well.
While swimming may be your primary function, how you get to your pool, where you socialize and what you sit on while you dip your feet in can all be equally important. What type of decking you choose needs to be decided before we can start because it will determine how deep we need to go. A Porcelain Paver requires the pool to be set about 1” below the grade while concrete can require up to 4” below the grade, and everything else lies somewhere in between. So, what you choose needs to be decided before we dig because it dramatically impacts our dig specs.
What we install are pools, but we want to make sure we provide you with the backyard retreat you’ve been dreaming of. We can help with getting you set up with the perfect patio for your relaxation. Whether it is seating, tanning or room for your outdoor activities we want to ensure it can happen. Thinking of a Flame feature or a water feature? Why not both?... You want to catch your guest’s eye? Water feature! You want to warm their hearts? Flame feature! The peace and serenity offered by water features helps rest and relax your mind both visually and audibly. While your flame feature allows for year round use of your backyard with the warmth and elegant dance of the flame. Whatever your outdoor dreams are, we want to make it happen with your new pool by Turquoise Pools.
Whether you’re doing a complete revamp of your backyard with your new pool or just want things straightened up after we dig that giant hole in your backyard. We have the connections to ensure your job is complete with minimum headache. We have 25 years of experience (50+ years of combined experience) and we’ve met a lot of good people in the industry that we trust to make everything happen perfect for you. Whether it’s just a pool or a completely new backyard we can make it happen for you.
When choosing your new pool, we recommend starting with three key considerations: Cost, Size and Install Time. These are the foundational elements, that can’t easily be changed later, so it’s important to get them right from the start.
FIBERGLASS | VINYL | GUNITE | |
---|---|---|---|
Cost | Medium Cost | Most cost effective | Highest cost |
Size | Max size is 16' x 40' | Virtually unlimited sizes | Unlimited sizes and configurations |
Install Time | Can be installed in as little as 10 days | Typically done in about 1 month | Average install time is about 3 months |
FIBERGLASS | VINYL | GUNITE | |
---|---|---|---|
Durability | Extremely strong and durable material. | The shell is great. The replaceable vinyl liner is not as strong as the others. | It's literally concrete… VERY durable. |
Texture / Feel | Smooth, nonporous and soft to the touch. | Almost cushiony feel and will be your smoothest option. | The plaster floors and walls are a bit rougher on the skin. |
Resale Value | Great resale value when properly installed. | Not as good of a resale value because they are more cost effective. | Best resale value, if it’s a more common shape. |
Energy Efficiency | Smooth thick surface allowing efficient water flow and good insulation. | Smooth surface allows efficient water flow but not very good insulation. | Rough surface does not allow for good water circulation. |
Maintenance | Easiest and most efficient. Especially with a saltwater system. | Requires less chemicals but improper balance can damage vinyl liner. | Not consistently balancing calcium and alkalinity will damage the structure. |
Resurfacing | New technology makes it more fade resistant but resurfacing is only for esthetics. | Need to replace Vinyl liner every 7-10 years. | Re-plaster pool surface every 10-12 years. |
As you can see there are a lot of pros and cons to all 3 options, and they all have their advantages. However, to us the most important thing is how easy it is to maintain your pool for the next 25+ years. Whether you maintain it yourself or you hire someone, how much time and money you spend maintaining your pool is the most important factor to us. That is why we prefer Fiberglass Pools, not because we can be in and out in less than 10 days but because after we leave your backyard, they are the most DIY friendly and cost effective to maintain. They are also easy to repair and since it’s a shell, we can literally pull it out of the ground and plop it into a new hole at your new home. The shells also go through rigorous testing and inspections before they leave the factory.

Josh was fabulous to work with from beginning to end! He did what he said he was going to do, he and his awesome crew showed up each day and completed our landscape on time AND kept us in budget. He took the time to answer questions, provided creative solutions and sketched a landscape design and executed it! He was extremely knowledgeable and meticulous. I felt like I was getting the red carpet treatment! We love our yard and could not be happier!

Josh is a fantastic professional and I had a great experience from start to finish. He was quick with his proposal and he was able to complete the job quickly as well. Above all else was his passion and ensuring that we were happy with the end product. I am very impressed and with so many choices in St George, it is great to know that there is someone trustworthy and that will treat you right.
