Choosing your type of coping is a critical first step in determining the elevation of your pool. Coping types vary in thickness but also determine the final grade of your pool. Knowing that final grade is critical for planning drainage. After all, you don’t want to have rainwater running into your pool or especially your home.
Travertine coping and deck. Travertine has a cooler surface temperature and is commonly used in our hot climate to protect bare feet in the summer. As a natural material, travertine comes in many colors making it a common choice around a pool.
Modern exposed aggregate concrete with porcelain pavers. Exposed aggregate concrete provides a unique looking nonslip surface. Like tile, porcelain pavers provide a clean finished look and are extremely resistant to fading staining, wearing and scratches. This material does not cut easily and therefore it is recommended that it only be used with straight lines and no curves.

Standard broom finished coping with an artificial turf deck. Whether a towel is laid down for laying out, table and chairs are placed on it for company, or it is used for recreational purposes like bocce ball or cornhole; Artificial turf can add greenery, and many uses to your pool area.

Artificial Turf is installed at approximately the same height as the hard surface next to it. This creates a smooth transition from one material to the next with a continuous finished grade and contrasting look.
